JPSC 11th 13th Cut Off Marks: Prelims, Mains & Final Service-Wise Cut Off

11 min read Exam Information

The JPSC 11th 13th Cut Off Marks for the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination-2023, Advertisement No. 01/2024, were released separately for the Preliminary Examination, Mains written examination and final service allocation. The official JPSC records show that the competition changed significantly across these three stages, so candidates should not mix the Prelims cut-off, Mains interview cut-off and final service-wise cut-off. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

15th JPSC

The most important final figures are the category-wise final cut-offs:

UNR 652.00 | ST 595.50 | SC 623.75 | BC-I 653.25 | BC-II 645.00 | EWS 634.00.

JPSC 11th–13th Cut Off Marks at a Glance

StageWhat the Cut Off Meant
Prelims Cut OffQualification for Mains
Mains Cut OffQualification for Interview
Final Category Cut OffLowest final score selected in that vertical category
Service-Wise Cut OffLowest final score allotted to a particular service/category
Horizontal Cut OffSeparate threshold for PTG/PwD etc.

JPSC published the Mains and final service-wise cut-offs on 3 September 2025, after the final result had already been declared on 25 July 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

JPSC 11th–13th Prelims Cut Off

The Preliminary Examination was held on 17 March 2024. JPSC released the result on 22 April 2024 along with category-wise cut-off marks. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

Official Prelims Cut Off

CategoryCut Off Marks

Sports148
PwD – Blind194

PwD – Locomotive230
PwD – Autism & Multiple Disability150

These figures are directly listed in JPSC’s official Preliminary Examination result PDF. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

What Was Unusual About the Prelims Cut Off?

One striking feature was that four major categories had exactly the same 246-mark threshold:

  • Unreserved
  • BC-I
  • BC-II
  • EWS

The SC cut-off was 236, while ST was substantially lower at 224. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

This means the difference between UNR and ST at Prelims was:

246 − 224 = 22 marks

while the difference between UNR and SC was only:

10 marks.

JPSC Prelims Cut Off Should Not Be Compared Directly With Final Cut Off

The Prelims examination is only a screening stage.

Therefore:

246 in Prelims

cannot be compared directly with

652 in final merit

because they come from entirely different examination stages and different maximum marks.

The correct progression is:

Prelims

→ Mains

→ Interview

→ Final service allocation.

JPSC 11th–13th Mains Cut Off

The Mains cut-off published by JPSC represents the marks required to qualify the written examination and reach the interview stage.

The official PDF dated 3 September 2025 gives the following figures.

CategoryMains Cut Off
Unreserved579.25
ST514.50
SC539.00
BC-I574.75
BC-II566.50
EWS546.00
Primitive Tribe505.00
Sports485.75
PwD – Blind516.75
PwD – Locomotive516.50
PwD – Deaf & Dumb504.00
Autism & Multiple Disability426.25

These are the official Mains written examination thresholds, not the final selection marks. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

Difference Between Mains and Final Cut Off

The comparison is revealing:

CategoryMains Cut OffFinal Cut OffIncrease
UNR579.25652.0072.75
ST514.50595.5081.00
SC539.00623.7584.75
BC-I574.75653.2578.50
BC-II566.50645.0078.50
EWS546.00634.0088.00

The increase does not represent interview marks alone. It reflects the fact that the lowest candidate merely qualifying for interview was not necessarily the lowest candidate ultimately selected.

Final selection was considerably more competitive.

JPSC 11th–13th Final Category-Wise Cut Off

The official service-wise final cut-off document contains a summary row titled “Category Wise Final Cutoff Marks.”

The values are:

CategoryFinal Cut Off
UNR652.00
ST595.50
SC623.75
BC-I / EBC-I653.25
BC-II645.00
EWS634.00

This is the most useful table for candidates searching simply for “11th 13th JPSC final cut off.”

BC-I Final Cut Off Was Higher Than UNR

One of the most interesting features is:

BC-I = 653.25

while

UNR = 652.00.

So the BC-I final cut-off was 1.25 marks higher than the overall UNR final category cut-off.

That is not inherently contradictory.

A reserved-category final cut-off can exceed an unreserved cut-off depending on:

  • service preferences;
  • category-wise vacancies;
  • number of candidates;
  • merit distribution;
  • roster operation.

It does not mean that BC-I candidates were prevented from competing in open merit.

JPSC Administrative Service Cut Off

The Jharkhand Administrative Service was one of the most sought-after allocations.

Official service-wise cut-offs were:

CategoryAdministrative Service Cut Off
UNR663.75
ST602.00
SC631.50
BC-I656.25
BC-II649.00
EWS638.75

This means the final overall UNR cut-off was 652.00, but an unreserved candidate needed at least 663.75 to obtain Jharkhand Administrative Service at the relevant allocation point.

That difference is:

11.75 marks.

JPSC State Police Service Cut Off

For Jharkhand State Police Service, the official table shows:

CategoryPolice Service Cut Off
UNR674.50
ST617.50
SC635.75
EWS645.00

No BC-I or BC-II figure is shown in the official table for this service. A blank cell should not be converted into an invented cut-off.

The most striking figure here is the UNR cut-off:

674.50

which was actually higher than the UNR Administrative Service cut-off of 663.75.

Why Was Police Cut Off Higher Than Administrative Service?

This does not necessarily mean that Police Service was “more prestigious” or universally more preferred.

Service-wise cut-offs depend on:

  • vacancy count;
  • candidate preferences;
  • service eligibility;
  • category roster;
  • sequence of allocation.

For example, the final result itself showed Rank 1 Ashish Akshat receiving Jharkhand State Police Service, while Rank 2 Abhay Kujur received Administrative Service. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

This strongly suggests that service preference matters, not only rank.

JPSC Finance Service Cut Off

The official Jharkhand Finance Service figures were:

CategoryFinance Service Cut Off
UNR657.00
ST597.00
SC625.75
BC-I656.25
BC-II645.00
EWS636.50

Finance Service therefore had a very narrow gap between:

UNR: 657.00

and

BC-I: 656.25.

JPSC Jail Service Cut Off

For Jharkhand Jail Service, JPSC lists:

CategoryCut Off
UNR658.50
SC624.25

The other category cells are blank in the official document.

Again, a blank does not mean zero and should not be interpreted as a missing candidate without further vacancy data.

JPSC Education Service Class-II Cut Off

The official cut-offs for Jharkhand Education Service Class-II were:

CategoryCut Off
UNR660.25
ST617.00
BC-I655.50
BC-II648.25

No SC or EWS cut-off is displayed in the official service-wise table.

JPSC Home Guard Gazetted Cut Off

For Jharkhand Home Guard (Gazetted), the table contains only:

BC-I – 654.50

Other category cells are blank.

This is a good example of why candidates should not expect every service to have a cut-off for every vertical category.

JPSC Co-operative Service Cut Off

For Jharkhand Co-operative Service:

CategoryCut Off
UNR653.00
ST596.00

Other categories are not assigned separate values in the official table.

JPSC Labour Service Cut Off

The Jharkhand Labour Service (General) Cadre has one of the most complete category-wise rows:

CategoryCut Off
UNR653.75
ST596.00
SC624.25
BC-I653.25
BC-II645.00
EWS634.00

These figures are directly visible in JPSC’s official service-wise cut-off PDF.

JPSC Probation Service Cut Off

For Jharkhand Probation Service:

CategoryCut Off
UNR652.00
ST595.50
SC623.75

The cut-offs here exactly match the eventual overall category-wise minimum for UNR, ST and SC.

That tells us that for those categories, Probation Service produced the lowest final selected score among the services represented.

JPSC Excise Service Cut Off

For Jharkhand Excise Service, JPSC lists:

UNR – 653.00

No separate ST, SC, BC-I, BC-II or EWS figure appears in the official service-wise row.

The dashes above mean JPSC did not display a separate cut-off in that cell. They do not mean zero.

Horizontal Reservation Final Cut Off

JPSC also published horizontal-category final thresholds.

The official table gives:

Horizontal CategoryFinal Cut Off
Primitive Tribe580.50
Blind556.75
Deaf & Dumb544.00
Locomotive561.50
Multiple Disability & Autism463.25

The same document also shows the number of horizontal-category selections in the summary row:

  • Primitive Tribe – 1
  • Blind – 3
  • Deaf & Dumb – 1
  • Locomotive – 3
  • Multiple & Autism – 1.

JPSC 11th–13th Cut Off: Stage-Wise Comparison

SC236539.00623.75
BC-I246574.75653.25
BC-II246566.50645.00
EWS246546.00634.00

This is probably the most useful single table for aspirants analysing the 11th–13th JPSC cycle. The Prelims values come from the April 2024 JPSC result, while the Mains and final values were officially published in September 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

Which Category Had the Highest Final Cut Off?

Among the main vertical categories:

  1. BC-I – 653.25
  2. UNR – 652.00
  3. BC-II – 645.00
  4. EWS – 634.00
  5. SC – 623.75
  6. ST – 595.50

The highest overall category-wise final cut-off was therefore BC-I at 653.25, not UNR.

Which Service Had the Highest UNR Cut Off?

Among services for which an UNR cut-off was published:

ServiceUNR Cut Off
State Police Service674.50
Administrative Service663.75
Education Service Class-II660.25
Jail Service658.50
Finance Service657.00
Labour Service653.75
Co-operative Service653.00
Excise Service653.00
Probation Service652.00

So State Police Service had the highest published UNR cut-off: 674.50.

Why Final Category Cut Off Is Lower Than Some Service Cut Offs

Suppose an UNR candidate wanted Administrative Service.

The threshold was:

663.75

But the overall final UNR threshold was:

652.00.

How can both be correct?

Because the overall category cut-off represents the lowest score among all finally selected candidates in that category, regardless of service.

A candidate scoring:

653

might fail to get Administrative Service but could still be selected into another service depending on allocation and preference.

Therefore:

Final category cut-off ≠ Administrative Service cut-off.

Why JPSC Final Cut Off Has Decimal Marks

The JPSC Mains and final cut-offs contain quarter marks such as:

  • 579.25
  • 574.75
  • 663.75
  • 635.75

This reflects the actual evaluation and aggregate marks produced through the examination process.

Candidates should therefore use the exact official values and not round them to:

“579”

or

“664”.

A difference of 0.25 marks can matter at the final boundary.

JPSC Mains Cut Off Analysis

The gap between UNR and the other main categories at the Mains stage was:

CategoryGap from UNR Mains Cut Off
BC-I4.50 lower
BC-II12.75 lower
EWS33.25 lower
SC40.25 lower
ST64.75 lower

The remarkably small 4.50-mark gap between UNR and BC-I shows the intensity of competition within the BC-I category.

Final Cut Off Analysis

At final selection, the pattern changed:

  • BC-I actually moved above UNR.
  • BC-II remained only 7 marks below UNR.
  • EWS was 18 marks below UNR.
  • SC was 28.25 marks below UNR.
  • ST was 56.50 marks below UNR.

This again demonstrates why a previous year’s category relationship should not be mechanically projected onto another JPSC recruitment.

Is 652 the Administrative Service Cut Off?

No.

This is one of the most common misunderstandings.

652.00

= overall UNR final selection cut-off

663.75

= UNR Jharkhand Administrative Service cut-off

674.50

= UNR Jharkhand State Police Service cut-off.

So a candidate with exactly 652 could be selected under UNR in the final list but would not meet the published UNR cut-off for Administrative Service.

Is 579.25 the Final JPSC Cut Off?

No.

579.25 is the UNR Mains written cut-off for interview qualification.

The actual final category-wise UNR threshold was:

652.00

and Administrative Service UNR was:

663.75.

JPSC 11th–13th Cut Off and Final Result

The final result contained 342 selected candidates and was released on 25 July 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

The final cut-off was released later, on 3 September 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

That sequence was:

Final Result – 25 July 2025

Individual Marks / Cut-Off – 3 September 2025

This explains why early reporting immediately after the final result could not provide the official service-wise thresholds.

Did JPSC Publish Individual Marks?

Yes.

The official recruitment page subsequently added:

“Click here to download your Marks”

alongside the Mains and service-wise final cut-off documents on 3 September 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

This means candidates could compare:

  • their own Mains score;
  • interview/final score;
  • category cut-off;
  • service-wise cut-off.

JPSC 11th–13th Cut Off PDF

JPSC released two separate important cut-off PDFs on 3 September 2025:

1. Mains Written Examination Cut-Off

Contains:

2. Service-Wise Final Cut-Off

Contains:

  • Administrative Service;
  • State Police Service;
  • Finance Service;
  • Jail Service;
  • Education Service;
  • Home Guard;
  • Co-operative Service;
  • Labour Service;
  • Probation Service;
  • Excise Service;
  • overall final category cut-off;
  • horizontal final cut-off.

This second document is the definitive source for service-wise final analysis.

24. Is final cut-off the same as Administrative Service cut-off?

No. The overall category threshold is the lowest final selection within that category across services. Administrative Service has a separate service-wise threshold.

25. When did JPSC release these cut-offs?

The Mains and service-wise final cut-offs were published on 3 September 2025. (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)
