The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has included the APPSCCE in its Programme of Examination for 2026.

The dates published in an examination calendar are generally tentative. Candidates must wait for the detailed advertisement and examination notices before making travel or leave arrangements.

APPSC Exam 2026 Overview

What Is the APPSCCE?

The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination is the state civil services examination conducted for recruitment to different Group A and Group B posts under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The examination is not limited to the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service. Depending on the requisitions received from government departments, recruitment may be conducted for administrative, police, revenue, cooperative, information, labour, disaster management, cultural and secretarial posts.

The official 2024 advertisement invited applications from Indian citizens for recruitment to various services and posts under the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

APPSC CCE Posts

The exact post list for the APPSC CCE 2026 will be confirmed only in the new notification. For reference, the 2024 recruitment included the following posts:

The 2024 post table included civil service, police service and CDPO vacancies on its first page. It also included posts such as Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Assistant Director of Industries, DIPRO, Labour Officer, DDMO, DACO, Station Superintendent and Assistant Protocol Officer.

APPSC Vacancy 2026

The number of vacancies for APPSCCE 2026 has not yet been officially announced.

Candidates should not describe the 2026 recruitment as having 140 vacancies. The figure of 140 vacancies belongs to the APPSCCE 2024 advertisement.

APPSCCE 2024 Post-Wise Vacancies

The official notification stated that the 140 vacancies and reservation distribution were based on requisitions submitted by the concerned departments of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

PwBD Reservation in the Previous Recruitment

The previous recruitment also identified posts reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

Accepted Proof of Date of Birth

The notification specifically stated that documents such as affidavits, horoscopes, municipal birth extracts and service records would not be accepted as age proof.

APPSC Educational Qualification 2026

Under the previous notification, candidates were required to possess a graduate degree from:

• A university recognised by the University Grants Commission
• A university incorporated by an Act of Parliament or a state legislature
• An institution established by an Act of Parliament
• A deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956
• An institution or qualification declared equivalent by the government

Can Final-Year Students Apply for APPSCCE?

The 2024 notification permitted candidates who had appeared or intended to appear in the qualifying degree examination to apply provisionally.

Such candidates had to produce proof of passing the qualifying examination in original on the day of the interview or viva voce. Failure to produce the proof would make them ineligible for the interview. A marksheet issued by the competent authority could be produced where the degree certificate was unavailable because the university had not held its convocation.

The Commission also stated that degree certificates, marksheets or grade reports issued by the Controller, Deputy Controller, Assistant Controller or Chief Controller of Examinations of a recognised autonomous college would be accepted. These documents were required at the stage of applying for the Main Examination.

Nationality

The APPSCCE 2024 advertisement invited online applications from citizens of India.

The same requirement is likely to continue, but candidates must confirm it from the 2026 advertisement.

Eligibility Rules for Government Employees

A candidate already serving in government, whether permanently, temporarily or as a work-charged employee, was required to inform the employer or controlling authority in writing about the application.

If the Commission received a communication from the employer withholding permission, the candidate’s application could be rejected and candidature cancelled.

APPSC Application Form 2026

The APPSC Application Form 2026 will be released online through the Commission’s official application portal.

Candidates will first have to complete One Time Registration, commonly called OTR.

How to Apply for Arunachal Pradesh PSC Exam 2026

Step 1: Complete One Time Registration

New candidates must complete OTR before filling out the application form.

Candidates already registered through OTR do not need to register again. They can log in using their existing user ID and password. The previous notification made OTR mandatory.

Step 2: Open the APPSCCE Advertisement

After the application window begins, candidates should open the detailed APPSCCE advertisement and read:

APPSC Prelims and Mains Application Forms Are Separate

An important detail from the notification is that the initial online application was invited only for the Preliminary Examination.

Candidates qualifying Prelims had to submit a separate Detailed Application Form for the Main Examination. No additional application fee was charged for submitting the Mains DAF.

This means candidates should preserve their OTR details, registration number and supporting certificates even after appearing in Prelims.

APPSC Selection Process 2026

The APPSCCE is conducted through two successive stages:

1. Preliminary Examination
2. Main Examination consisting of Written Examination and Interview

The official notification describes Prelims as an objective screening examination and Mains as a written examination followed by an interview for final selection.

For example, if the same rule were applied to 100 vacancies, approximately 1,200 candidates could be shortlisted, subject to the Commission’s decision.

Stage 2: APPSC Main Written Examination

The Main Examination consists of eight subjective papers.

The notification states that marks secured in General Studies Paper I are counted for qualifying for Mains. CSAT is qualifying in nature, and candidates must obtain at least 33% in it.

There is a penalty of one-third of the marks assigned to a question for every wrong answer in the objective papers.

Scribe and Compensatory-Time Facility

Candidates with benchmark disabilities in specified categories may be eligible for a scribe.

For other eligible disability categories, the candidate must produce a certificate from a government medical authority stating that the person has a physical limitation in writing and that a scribe is essential.
