Observer status is a privilege granted by some organizations to non-members to give them an ability to participate in the organization’s activities. The United Nations General Assembly grants Permanent Observer Status to non-member states, international organisations and other entities. According to UN website, “observer status would be confined to states and intergovernmental organisations whose activities cover matters of interest to the Assembly”.
