The Kakori Train Action was carried out by members of the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) on 9 August 1925 near Kakori, a village in present-day Uttar Pradesh. About Kakori Incident Background: HRA was founded in 1924 by Ram Prasad Bismil, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, and others, aimed to overthrow British colonial rule through armed revolution. It needed funds for revolutionary activities, therefore decided to target government money being transported by train.
